Motorhome insulation
Insulation is an important element in a motorhome, not only for winter, but also for the heat of summer. Materials and assembly can make all the difference.
At AUTOSTAR , we've opted for PROTEC-STAR construction. We use high-performance materials to protect vehicles from external aggression (gravel, branches, etc.), such as polyester or alufiber bodywork. Much less brittle than aluminum, these walls provide optimum protection for all exterior surfaces of the cell (roof, sides, rear and subfloor). Autostar has chosen polyester for all its motorhomes (excluding vans) and alufiber for all its top-of-the-range motorhomes, such as the PRESTIGE I730LC Design Edition or the I790LJ PRESTIGE Design Edition.
Styrofoam will also be used on all motorhomes, as it is much stiffer and more efficient than polystyrene.

The double floor
For frequent travelers, the double-floor offers the possibility of storing bulky items such as skis, parasol and picnic table, but above all of protecting pipes and water tanks from the cold. A major asset for winter travelers! Autostar offers POWERBOX and WATERBOX technologies, ideal for winter use of your motorhome. The single point of access to the water circuit and the grouping of the valves and electrical circuit provide effective protection against freezing.
Starting with PASSION models(PASSION I730LCA), motorhomes benefit froma double technical floor or double storage floor.
Good ventilation
AUTOSTAR VENTIL'PLUS technology also allows warm air to be distributed more evenly throughout the motorhome, thanks to the numerous vents, grilles and passages incorporated into the custom-made furniture. This design effectively combats condensation problems and enhances the feeling of comfort.
Heating
Of course, heating capacity is of prime importance in winter.
Most motorhomes are equipped with TRUMA COMBI 4 (4000 W) or TRUMA COMBI 6 (6000 W) boilers. If you want to heat your vehicle or need hot water, always use the energy source that suits you best: all-electric, gas or mixed operation.
But if you want top-of-the-range heating, we recommend the ALDE heating heating system, with which all top-of-the-range Autostar motorhomes are equipped. This boiler system operates alternatively on gas or electricity, distributing gentle, even heat throughout the motorhome via radiators. Air heated by a heat transfer fluid circulates naturally in the cabin, providing a healthy atmosphere for occupants. AUTOSTAR, a pioneer in this field, has been using ALDE heating systems for 30 years!
